NPQ Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC):

Who is this programme suitable for:
Department for Education NPQ scholarship funding is available to all.
DfE-funded scholarships are available for this NPQ for all participants who are in a publicly funded school and/or 16 to 19 educational organisations in England who meet the following criteria:
• Teachers and leaders who are, or aspire to be, involved in developing and implementing behaviour and wellbeing strategies within their educational setting
• Behaviour Management Leads
• Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCOs)
• Welfare Management Managers
• Pastoral Team Leads
• Key Stage and Phase Leaders
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Leads
If you do not work in an eligible school, the NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture costs £899 plus VAT.

This 12-month National Professional Qualification (NPQ) programme is designed to strengthen expertise in behaviour, culture and pupil wellbeing, supporting meaningful and sustainable improvement across educational settings.
Whether you are currently leading behaviour and culture initiatives or aspiring to take on greater responsibility in this area, this programme will equip you with the knowledge, confidence and practical strategies to create positive learning environments where both pupils and staff can thrive.
Throughout the programme, you will develop expertise in key areas including:
• Establishing a culture of high expectations and learning across your educational setting
• Creating the conditions for positive behaviour and supporting colleagues to implement effective classroom-level approaches
• Supporting pupil wellbeing and understanding its impact on behaviour, engagement and outcomes
• Leading evidence-informed approaches to behaviour, culture and inclusion
Designed with busy professionals in mind, the programme combines flexible, evidence-informed learning with practical application to ensure your development has an immediate and lasting impact in your setting.
The Programme at a Glance:
• Duration: 12 months
• Study commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per week
• Delivery model: A blend of self-directed study, collaborative group sessions and facilitated learning
• Assessment: A written assessment at the end of the programme
Funding Opportunities:
Funding is available for teachers and educational leaders working in many state-funded settings across England, subject to eligibility criteria.
Please note that while many participants may be eligible for funded places, eligibility does not guarantee access to a funded NPQ programme.
What you'll learn
The programme explores a broad range of behaviour and culture leadership themes, enabling participants to strengthen both strategic understanding and day-to-day practice.

• Establishing the conditions for good behaviour through effective behaviour management systems and approaches
• Supporting pupils with complex behavioural needs, including preventing and responding to bullying
• Developing effective professional development linked to behaviour and culture
• Implementing evidence-informed improvement plans that drive sustainable change
You will also deepen your understanding of evidence-informed leadership approaches and gain practical models to help translate theory into effective practice within your setting.

Course Structure:
